Senior Application Engineer

As a Senior Application Engineer, you will play a key role in both Tendering (ITO) and Project Execution activities for Subsea Production Control Systems. During the tendering phase, you will lead the PCS engineering contribution to major EPC tenders, working closely with Engineering Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Commercial teams, and customers to develop technically robust and commercially competitive proposals.
Following project award, you may transition into a project execution role, supporting the design, integration, verification, testing, and delivery of subsea control system solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Tendering & Commercial Support
- Leading the Production Control Systems engineering contribution for EPC tender opportunities.
- Supporting tender studies for subsea control system architecture, design, and technical solution development.
- Collaborating with Commercial and Sales teams to develop competitive technical and commercial offerings.
- Reviewing customer specifications and translating requirements into compliant system solutions.
- Developing tender documentation, including:
- Technical proposals
- Engineering write-ups
- Technical risk registers
- Compliance matrices
- Technical clarifications
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks during the tendering process.
- Supporting client technical discussions and negotiations to develop solutions that meet customer requirements while optimizing project value.
- Ensuring compliance with Baker Hughes standards and applicable industry regulations for subsea control systems.

Project Execution
- Supporting the design and development of subsea production control systems using a systems engineering approach.
- Managing requirements capture, analysis, allocation, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Developing and maintaining:
- Functional Design Specifications
- Requirements Specifications
- System architecture documentation
- Design review materials
- System models
- Supporting the assessment and integration of new technologies and products into project solutions.
- Defining Verification and Validation (V&V) requirements and supporting generation of design verification evidence.
- Managing technical changes through structured change control and impact assessment processes.
- Supporting System Integration, Testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and customer acceptance activities.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Technical Leadership & Systems Engineering
- Applying systems engineering methodologies including:
- Requirements management
- Systems architecture
- Integration management
- Configuration management
- Risk management
- Technical analysis
- Supporting engineering excellence through technical guidance and mentoring.
- Working effectively across engineering disciplines and cross-functional teams.
- Participating in customer engagements during requirements gathering, bid development, and solution definition activities.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice development within the engineering organization.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a Degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Possess significant experience with Subsea Production Control Systems.
- Demonstrate experience supporting subsea engineering projects through tendering, design, or project execution phases.
- Have strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Be comfortable engaging directly with customers and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform effectively in fast-paced project environments.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Be willing to undertake occasional international travel when required.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Engineer status or active progress toward professional registration.
- Experience supporting or leading tendering activities.
- Experience delivering subsea systems or production control system projects.
- Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and tools.
- Experience supporting system integration, testing, verification, and validation activities.
