Senior Application Support Engineer

Location: Cardiff – Hybrid
Salary: Up to £35,000

CPS Group are working with a growing technology business in Cardiff that develops and supports software solutions for the financial services sector. They’re looking for an experienced Senior Application Support Engineer to join their Engineering team and provide high-level technical support across their customer-facing applications.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in Application/Software Support, SQL and technical troubleshooting who enjoys getting to the root cause of complex issues, while also supporting and mentoring less experienced members of the team.

The Role

As a Senior Application Support Engineer, you’ll provide 2nd and 3rd line application support, taking ownership of more complex and escalated technical issues through investigation, root-cause analysis and resolution.

You’ll work closely with Service Delivery and Engineering teams, helping ensure customer issues are resolved effectively while also improving processes, documentation and automation across the support function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
