Senior Production Application Support Engineer

London
£130,000 + benefits

We’re looking for a Senior Production Application Support Engineer to join a high-performing technology team supporting a complex electronic trading platform in London.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of application support, trading technology and engineering, with responsibility for keeping critical production systems highly available and resilient.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide 3rd line production and UAT support for critical trading applications
  • Investigate complex issues across application, OS, database and network layers
  • Perform detailed root cause analysis using logs, code and monitoring tools
  • Support production deployments, configuration management, DR and BCP activities
  • Develop scripts, SQL and application changes to improve reliability and automation
  • Work closely with technology, product and client-facing teams
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement across the support function

  • Strong experience in production/application support within financial services
  • Front-office or electronic trading application support experience
  • Strong Linux and Windows administration knowledge
  • Python, Bash, PowerShell, Perl or similar scripting experience
  • Strong SQL/database experience, ideally SQL Server and MongoDB
  • C++ or Java experience
  • Strong understanding of networks, APIs and application integration
  • FIX API experience
  • Experience with Git and production deployments
  • A genuine engineering mindset with strong problem-solving skills
