Senior Application Support Engineer | Redditch | £38,000 – £45,000
Most support roles waste a strong technical brain on ticket triage. This one doesn't.
An established supply chain software company in Redditch is hiring into its support function. They build the platform 1,700+ businesses across 75 countries rely on to plan their inventory, and it's complex enough that "have you tried turning it off and on again" doesn't cut it here.
You'll own escalated tickets end to end. That means digging into logs, writing real SQL (not copy-pasting from Stack Overflow), tracing application behaviour with tools like SQL Profiler, and working directly with the dev team when things need deeper investigation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is titled senior, but they care more about how you think than what your last job title said. If you've got the technical depth and the judgement to operate at that level, the label matters less.
What you'll get:
- Clear structure across first and second line support, so you're not firefighting alone.
- Hybrid working once you're through probation (3 days a week in the office).
- A team that's been doing this long enough to know the platform inside out, and will expect the same from you eventually.
