Senior Application Support Engineer

Location: Central London (Onsite 5 days per week, 08:30-17:30)

Contract: Until 31/03/2027, with potential extension

Day Rate: Up to £1,100 per day

Clearance: Active SC clearance required, with candidates either holding or progressing through the DV clearance process.

Here at Anson McCade, we are working with a globally renowned consulting organisation to hire an experienced Senior Application Support Engineer for a long-term programme supporting a complex, mission-critical application within a highly secure environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned support professional to join a specialist team responsible for application support, incident management, service improvement, change implementation, and stakeholder engagement across a multi-technology platform. The role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can operate independently while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • ITIL4 Foundation certification
  • Strong Linux administration experience
  • Apache NiFi experience
  • Extensive application support experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Desirable Skills

  • Active Directory, DNS and networking technologies
  • PKI, IPSEC/Cryptography and Cisco IOS
  • Docker, VMware, MySQL, MongoDB and ELK Stack
  • Jira administration and custom plugins
  • Experience within secure or government environments
  • AWS training and/or certifications

Candidates at the upper end of the rate range will typically possess 10+ years of application support experience, a broad technical skillset spanning multiple technologies, and a strong track record of continuous learning and professional development.

Occasional travel to customer sites across the UK may be required.
