Job Description

Senior Application Support Engineer – Contract

require SC to start. candidates must be happy to complete eDV clearance

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6-12 months (rolling)

Rate: up to £800 /day (inside IR35)

We are looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer to join a small team supporting a complex, business-critical, multi-technology application.

You'll take ownership of BAU support, incident/problem management, system changes and continual service improvement, working directly with clients, technical teams and subcontractors.

  • Manage incidents, problems, service requests and changes through to resolution.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical and application issues.
  • Deliver small enhancements and support larger development changes.
  • Work with clients and technical teams to implement system changes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other support engineers.
  • Produce service and major incident reports.
  • Maintain technical and service documentation.
  • Drive proactive activities including health checks, monitoring, patching, capacity management and performance improvement.
  • Identify risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Occasionally travel to UK client/data-centre sites.
