This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing digital and technology team at the heart of a global defence, aerospace and engineering organisation. You'll help ensure critical business applications remain secure, reliable and high-performing, supporting colleagues across the organisation and enabling the delivery of projects that matter to national security, public infrastructure and essential services.

The role

As Senior Applications Analyst, you'll take a leading role in managing and supporting Babcock's enterprise application portfolio throughout its operational lifecycle. Working within our IT and Digital function, you'll provide technical expertise, solve complex challenges and help drive continuous improvement across critical business systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your technical expertise, influence application strategy and mentor colleagues, while working in a collaborative environment that values innovation, knowledge sharing and professional growth. Your work will directly contribute to the performance and resilience of systems that support our people, customers and mission-critical operations.

Day-to-day you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing and supporting enterprise applications across their operational lifecycle.
  • Providing technical and functional support to resolve complex application issues.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, customers and external vendors to maintain high service standards.
  • Driving continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and best practice across the Applications Support team.
  • Supporting and providing technical guidance to colleagues while contributing to application enhancement initiatives.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Senior Applications Analyst:

  • Experienced in managing and delivering technical and functional support for enterprise-level applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server in high-availability environments.
  • Demonstrable success in troubleshooting complex issues and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong technical experience in software maintenance, application support, installation and infrastructure or server administration.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, functions, business units and geographical locations.

Qualifications for the Senior Applications Analyst:

Desirable:

  • Professional certifications in information technology, application management or related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of mobile technologies and support.
  • Experience supporting Customer Relationship Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, IT Service Management or Commercial Off-The-Shelf applications.
  • Experience integrating on-premise and cloud-based solutions.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
