Senior Applied AI Engineer
Location: UK or Dubai – Hybrid
Salary: $100K–$160K base, dependent on experience and location
Type: Full-time
We’re partnering with a global enterprise software business that is building a small, high-impact AI engineering team within R&D, focused on changing how enterprise software is built using AI. The team’s first project is building an AI intelligence layer across complex legacy data, before applying those learnings more broadly to how engineering teams build, test and deploy software using multiple AI agents.
The Role
You’ll be one of the senior technical engineers within a small, flat team, remaining highly hands-on while taking ownership of architecture and engineering standards.

You will:
- Build and ship production-grade agentic AI systems
- Own architecture across multi-agent workflows and orchestration
- Design evaluation frameworks, regression testing and drift monitoring
- Build orchestration, evaluation and codebase-analysis components
- Integrate AI systems into real production codebases and CI/CD environments
- Work across distributed systems, DAG scheduling and static analysis
- Provide technical guidance and review complex engineering decisions
- Remain hands-on — this is not a people-management position
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of production software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience building with LLM agents / tool-using AI systems
- Deep software engineering fundamentals — this is not simply an LLM/API integration role
- Experience architecting complex production systems
- Strong understanding of agentic systems, distributed systems and CI/CD
- Experience designing evaluation and measurement frameworks for AI systems
- Comfortable working in a small, highly technical team with significant ownership

Package & Location
Base: $100K–$160K, dependent on skills, experience and location.
Location: Hybrid, based in either the UK or Dubai. This is an opportunity to join a small internal AI team with the resources and scale of a major global software organisation, while still operating with the ownership and pace of an early-stage engineering environment.
