Senior Associate Architect
As demand for our expertise continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate Architect to join our Manchester office. This is a Senior role within our AJ100 architecture practice, offering the opportunity to shape and deliver high-profile projects across a diverse range of sectors including Advanced Manufacturing, Science & Technology, Defence, Education and Workplace.
As a key member of our architectural team, you will provide strategic project leadership, build and strengthen client relationships, support business development activities, and mentor the next generation of architects. You will play an important role in the continued growth of our Manchester team while contributing to the success of projects across the UK and internationally.
We are a significant part of a multi-disciplinary design practice, known for our collaborative approach, technical excellence and integrated design philosophy. Our teams deliver innovative, sustainable and commercially successful solutions for some of the most complex and rewarding projects in the built environment.

What You'll Be Doing
- Leading multidisciplinary project teams on complex and high-profile commissions.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, developing long-term relationships and identifying opportunities for future work.
- Providing strategic and technical leadership throughout all project stages.
- Mentoring, developing and supporting architects and technicians within the team.
- Driving design quality, innovation and technical excellence across all deliverables.
- Undertaking project governance responsibilities, including programme, resource and financial management.
- Leading client presentations, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Championing best practice, design standards and continuous improvement within the practice.
- Overseeing planning applications, Building Regulations submissions and statutory approvals.
- Managing technical design packages, specifications and quality assurance processes.
- Undertaking site inspections and providing construction-stage support.
- Supporting business development, bid submissions and key client pursuits.
- Contributing to the strategic growth and success of the Manchester architecture team.

About You
- RIBA Chartered Architect with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record leading complex projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong experience managing client relationships and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commercially aware with experience of project financial management and resource planning.
- Highly proficient in Revit and technical design delivery.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, planning processes and industry standards.
- Experience within sectors such as Science & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Defence, Education or Commercial Workplace environments would be advantageous.
- Ability to balance technical excellence, design quality and commercial objectives.
- Experience supporting business development activities and winning work would be beneficial.
