The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Architect to join our growing National Architecture team in our brand-new central Bristol office. Designed to foster collaboration, creativity and innovation, our new workspace brings together talented professionals from across multiple disciplines, creating an environment where ideas are shared, expertise is combined and great design flourishes.
As we continue to invest in our presence nationally and across the Southwest, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the growth of our Architecture team, contributing to a diverse portfolio of impactful projects across the UK, with opportunities to support international commissions.
You’ll be part of one of the world’s leading design consultancies, working alongside architects, engineers, planners, environmental specialists and project managers. Our integrated approach enables us to tackle complex challenges, influence projects from concept through to completion, and create places that deliver lasting value for our clients and communities.
From commercial workplaces and residential-led regeneration to complex mixed-use developments, you’ll have the opportunity to lead design, influence project outcomes and build strong client relationships, while helping shape the continued growth and success of our Architecture team.
About The Role
As a Senior Architect, you’ll take a leading role in the design and delivery of multidisciplinary projects, providing strong architectural direction and technical expertise across all RIBA work stages.
You’ll work closely with clients and project teams, taking ownership of key project responsibilities while supporting and mentoring colleagues. You’ll also play an active role in developing our client relationships, supporting work-winning activity and contributing to the continued growth of our Architecture business across the Southwest and nationally.
You’ll Have The Opportunity To
- Lead architectural design and project delivery across all RIBA work stages.
- Take responsibility for key projects and workstreams, ensuring high standards of design, technical quality and delivery.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across commercial, residential and mixed-use developments.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders, building trusted relationships and providing informed architectural advice.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, landscape architects and environmental specialists to develop integrated design solutions.
- Contribute to project planning, programming, resourcing, quality and commercial performance.
- Support bids, presentations, proposals and other work-winning activities.
- Contribute to business development and client relationship management across the Southwest and nationally.
- Mentor and support junior architects and architectural assistants, sharing knowledge and helping develop the wider team.
- Champion sustainable, innovative and digitally enabled approaches to design and project delivery.
- Represent Stantec at industry events, networking opportunities and client meetings.
- Contribute to UK projects with opportunities to support international commissions where appropriate.

About You
You’ll be an experienced and collaborative Architect with strong design, technical and project delivery experience. You’ll be comfortable taking ownership, leading teams and engaging directly with clients, while bringing a commercial awareness and a genuine passion for creating high-quality architecture.
You’ll Ideally Have
- ARB registered Architect with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience operating at Senior Architect level, or an experienced Architect ready to take the next step.
- Strong experience delivering commercial, residential and/or mixed-use projects across multiple RIBA work stages.
- Experience leading architectural workstreams and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong design and technical capabilities, with a good understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction methodologies.
- Experience managing project programmes, resources, quality and commercial considerations.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build trusted relationships.
- Experience contributing to bids, presentations, business development or other work-winning activities.
- Proficiency in Revit, BIM and digital design workflows.
- A strong understanding of sustainable design principles and a passion for innovative architectural solutions.
- The ability to mentor and support less experienced colleagues and contribute positively to a collaborative team culture.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive and commercially aware approach, with the ambition to contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
