Aitken Turnbull Architects is expanding its presence in Manchester and is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Architect and Architectural Technician to join our growing team.
These are exciting opportunities for talented professionals who want to play an active role in both project delivery and the development of our Manchester and wider Northern England presence.
We are looking for people with strong technical and commercial experience, an understanding of the Northern construction market and the ambition to contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Senior Architect
We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect to take a leading role in the delivery of major projects while helping to develop Aitken Turnbull's client base and profile across Manchester and the wider North of England.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key regional role, working on high-profile projects across the UK while helping to build relationships, identify new opportunities and contribute to the strategic growth of the practice.
The Role
- Lead and deliver projects with a strong focus on design, technical excellence and successful project outcomes.
- Take responsibility for projects through relevant RIBA stages.
- Lead and coordinate project teams, consultants and wider project stakeholders.
- Maintain strong client relationships and act confidently as a senior point of contact.
- Along with the wider Senior Leadership Team, contribute to business development and the development of new client relationships.
- Develop Aitken Turnbull's presence, partnerships and project pipeline across Manchester and the wider Northern region in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across our UK studios.
- Support and mentor other members of the team.
- Contribute to the continued development of the practice's technical and design standards.

What We're Looking For
- Qualified Architect with significant post-qualification experience.
- Strong experience in project delivery and technical design.
- Good knowledge of UK construction methods, planning and building regulations.
- Strong understanding of the Manchester and Northern England construction market.
- Experience delivering commercial or other relevant multi-sector projects.
- Confident working directly with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in business development.
- A proactive approach with the ambition to help shape and grow our regional presence.
- Proficiency in Revit and experience working within BIM environments is desirable.
