About the Role
At Purcell's London Studio, we are looking for a talented Senior Architect to join our team working on the creative reuse of iconic and historically significant buildings in the UK and overseas. We welcome applications from highly capable architects with excellent technical design skills, advanced Revit capability, experience with large £100m+ projects, and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities
You'll be working within our architectural team to deliver adaptive reuse projects in significant heritage contexts across all RIBA stages in the cultural, public and workplace sectors. The role will involve design, coordination, technical production, document control, planning and building control applications, and construction supervision. You will play a key role in leading production, managing junior staff members, liaising with sub-consultants, external consultants, suppliers and contractors. This position suits a hands-on and team-orientated individual who is confident managing multiple workstreams and packages.
Requirements
The successful candidate will evidence strong technical design skills, keen attention to detail, and a deep-rooted interest in existing buildings, evidenced by high-quality examples of past work and experience. We expect an enthusiastic, can-do attitude, willingness to learn, and an understanding of Purcell's projects and culture.
Candidates are required to have the following:
- ARB Part 3 qualified with at least 7 years experience working as an Architect for a UK based practice
- High degree of proficiency in using Revit and NBS software
- Excellent design skills
- Advanced technical knowledge in the adaptation of existing buildings
- A thorough understanding of the UK Building and Planning regulations
- Leadership experience managing a small team
- A well organised, proactive and enthusiastic approach to work and projects
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
- Proven experience across all RIBA Stages, with an emphasis on RIBA Stages 3-6
