About the Role
Some Senior Architect roles offer more responsibility. This one offers somewhere meaningful to go.
I’m working with an established, design-led architectural practice in Glasgow that is investing in the continued growth of its residential team. They are looking for an experienced Senior Architect who can lead significant projects today and, with the right performance, progress towards Associate Director.
Responsibilities
This is not a vague promise about “future opportunities”. The practice wants someone capable of becoming a senior figure within its residential business:
- Shaping how projects are delivered
- Developing the team
- Strengthening client relationships
- Contributing to the direction of the sector
You will work closely with the Residential Sector Lead, gaining the visibility, responsibility and commercial exposure needed to take that next step.
You will lead medium to large-scale residential and mixed-use projects from early design through technical development and delivery on site. The portfolio includes work for developers and housing associations, so you should understand the practical balance between design quality, commercial pressures, programme, compliance and buildability.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
As a senior member of the team, you will:
- Coordinate consultants
- Manage client and contractor relationships
- Oversee technical information
- Keep multiple workstreams moving
You will also support and mentor less experienced colleagues, helping establish clear standards while creating an environment in which people can do their best work.
Requirements
The practice is looking for a registered Architect with approximately five to ten years of relevant post-qualification experience, although capability matters more than a perfect number on your CV. You should have:
- Strong residential project experience
- Sound knowledge of Scottish Building Regulations
- Confidence working across several RIBA stages
Experience delivering projects on site and using Revit would be particularly valuable.
Just as importantly, you will need to be comfortable operating beyond the drawing board. Progression to Associate Director will require evidence that you can build trust with clients, make sound decisions, support resource planning, develop people and contribute commercially. You do not need to arrive as the finished article, but you should want that level of responsibility and be ready to grow into it.

Benefits
In return, you will join a collaborative studio where senior people remain accessible and good ideas are heard. The practice offers:
- A competitive salary based on experience
- Employer pension contributions
- Structured professional support
- A flexible working schedule
You will also receive an extra day of annual leave when your birthday falls on a weekday.
Why Apply?
This opportunity will suit someone who has perhaps reached the ceiling in their current practice, is carrying leadership responsibility without the recognition, or wants a clearer connection between performance and progression.
If you are an ambitious residential Architect who wants influence, visibility and a credible route towards Associate Director, I would be happy to tell you more confidentially. Send me your CV or portfolio, or get in touch for an informal conversation before deciding whether to apply.
