Senior Architectural Technician

Location: Sauchen, Aberdeen
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Available on request

Are you an experienced Architectural Technician looking for a senior role where you can have real input across the full lifecycle of residential development?

Our client is a well-established housebuilder with a strong pipeline of housing projects across Scotland, and they are looking to appoint a Senior Architectural Technician to join their technical team in Sauchen.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be involved from early site layouts and planning work right through to construction, site delivery and handover.

The Role:

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a key part in producing accurate, compliant and buildable design information while working closely with consultants, site teams and internal departments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing site layouts to support land offers and development appraisals.
  • Producing drawings for planning, building warrant and construction issue.
  • Liaising with Planning and Building Control throughout the approvals process.
  • Developing housetype drawings and detailed construction information.
  • Preparing technical information for the Sales team.
  • Collating and issuing information required for habitation certificates.
  • Supporting housing association projects through design, specification, progress meetings and handover.
  • Attending site and working closely with Site Managers to resolve technical queries.
  • Coordinating with external consultants throughout planning and construction.
  • Working collaboratively with Surveying, Construction, Sales and Customer Care teams.

What We’re Looking For:

You will ideally have a strong background in residential design, with experience taking projects through planning, warrant and construction stages.

You should be someone who is:

  • Technically strong and confident producing detailed residential drawings.
  • Comfortable managing your own workload across multiple live projects.
  • Confident dealing with planners, Building Control, consultants and site teams.
  • Practical and solutions-focused when technical issues arise on site.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working as part of a busy, collaborative technical team.
