Company Description
Blueprint Architectural Design Ltd provides tailored architectural services to meet individual client requirements across commercial and residential projects, from property developments to extensions. The team produces high-quality architectural drawings, supported by extensive visual materials including images and 3D work showcased on the company website. Blueprint guides clients through every stage of the process, from initial design to planning and building regulation applications, coordinating with structural engineers and other specialists as needed. In-house SAP assessors ensure required energy assessments are completed, helping clients move confidently toward site start. The addition of CDM and Principal Designer services ensures the company provides a complete service to gain a successful project completion. They are a team of knowledgeable technicians and administrative staff who boast excellent reviews found on Google. Their rural, laid-back office is a bonus to the team, offering a comfortable space to return to each day.
Role Description
The Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist will work full time on-site in Raunds, contributing to the delivery of detailed technical information for a range of residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Producing and coordinating accurate technical drawings and construction details
- Preparing and revising CAD plans
- Ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and planning requirements
- Managing a small team of technicians
- Providing guidance and support to the technician team
- Checking drawing work ready for issuing to clients
The role involves collaborating closely with structural engineers and other specialists to develop buildable solutions, resolve technical issues, and support projects from concept through to completion. The successful candidate will participate in client meetings, interpret project briefs, respond to technical queries, and help maintain consistent documentation and standards across multiple projects. In addition, the candidate will also work closely with the director providing CDM services to clients—training will be given if no previous experience.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Architectural Technology and Architecture, with the ability to translate design concepts into practical technical solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in Technical Drawing and Construction Drawings, including the production of detailed plans, sections, and schedules for residential and commercial projects.
- Advanced skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software relevant to architectural practice, with the ability to manage and update drawing sets efficiently.
- Good understanding of UK building regulations, planning processes, and construction methods, ideally with experience working from design through to on-site stages.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a busy studio environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, colleagues, and external consultants.
- Relevant qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or extensive experience in the field.
- Previous experience in a similar technician/technologist role within an architectural practice, particularly on residential and small-to-medium commercial projects, is highly beneficial.

Salary & Benefits
- Attractive salary package, dependant on experience and expertise: £36k - £45k per annum
- 22 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays – 30 days total

Hours & Location
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with a 30-minute lunch break
