Senior Architectural Technologist – Industrial

With a growing pipeline of industrial and manufacturing projects, we are seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join our Architecture team. Our work includes advanced manufacturing facilities, logistics and distribution centres, data centres, warehouses, process buildings, production environments, and wider operational estates. Purpose and Scope of the Role
This role is centred firmly on the technical delivery of industrial and manufacturing design work. You will be responsible for producing accurate, coordinated, and compliant construction information that meets statutory requirements, client expectations, and the technical demands of complex operational environments.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will develop architectural models, drawings, schedules, and specifications that integrate effectively with structural, civil, MEP, process, and specialist engineering disciplines. Your day-to-day responsibilities will focus on technical detailing, design coordination, model development, document production, and supporting efficient delivery across manufacturing facilities, logistics buildings, warehouses, process environments, industrial estates, and operational facilities.
Your Impact in this Position
Your work will contribute directly to the clarity, buildability, efficiency, and compliance of industrial-sector design outputs. You will take responsibility for preparing, checking, and coordinating technical information, responding to design queries, resolving clashes, and ensuring design intent is accurately translated into construction-ready documentation.
You will support project teams by maintaining effective communication across disciplines, meeting programme requirements, and managing your workload efficiently. You will also contribute to the development of coordinated BIM models and digital workflows, helping project teams deliver robust and practical solutions for demanding industrial environments. Over time, you will broaden your technical responsibilities and play a key role in maintaining high delivery standards across the Architecture team.
Core Capabilities
Technical Expertise in Architectural Technology – Industrial Sector
You will bring strong post-qualification experience in producing detailed architectural design information for industrial, manufacturing, data centres, logistics, commercial, or similarly complex building environments. Experience working on manufacturing facilities, warehouses, distribution centres, process buildings, production environments, or industrial estates will be highly valuable.
Proficiency in Revit is essential, as you will use the platform to develop coordinated architectural models, drawings, and schedules in accordance with project BIM standards. A strong understanding of BIM processes, model management, information exchange, and multidisciplinary coordination will support effective project delivery.
A thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations, construction detailing, materials, and relevant technical standards is essential to ensure accuracy, compliance, and buildability. Experience producing technical packages through developed design, technical design, and construction stages will be advantageous.

Project Delivery and Technical Coordination
Your focus will be on delivering accurate, coordinated, and timely technical outputs across a range of industrial projects. You will work closely with structural, civil, MEP, process, fire, specialist equipment, and other engineering teams to ensure architectural information aligns with wider project requirements.
You will identify and resolve coordination issues, support clash detection, and maintain consistency across models, drawings, schedules, and specifications. Experience working within formal design-management, BIM, and technical-assurance processes will support your ability to operate effectively.
You will manage your workload efficiently, contribute to project reporting, and support the delivery of programme commitments. An understanding of the operational, logistical, and maintenance requirements associated with industrial buildings will help you develop practical and effective design solutions.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
Strong written and verbal communication skills will enable you to produce clear technical documentation, support design workshops, attend site visits, and respond effectively to project queries. You will work collaboratively with clients, end users, contractors, suppliers, engineers, and internal project teams to ensure information is well structured, clearly presented, and delivered on time.
You will be confident discussing technical matters, explaining design information, and contributing constructively to multidisciplinary reviews. While this is not a leadership-focused role, your experience will support a positive and cooperative team environment, and you may provide informal guidance to junior colleagues when required.
You will help maintain clear communication between design disciplines, ensuring that project decisions are properly understood and reflected in the technical information.

Your ability to identify issues early, propose practical solutions, and maintain accuracy in complex environments will be central to the quality of your delivery. You will contribute to the development of sustainable, adaptable, and resilient design solutions that respond to the operational needs of industrial clients.
An interest in modern methods of construction, automation, advanced manufacturing, digital design, and emerging industrial technologies would be beneficial. You will understand the importance of designing buildings that are safe, efficient, maintainable, and capable of responding to future operational requirements.
Commercial Awareness and Client Focus
You will understand how technical decisions influence programme, cost, quality, and project risk. You will support fee proposals, tender content, and project-delivery strategies by contributing accurate technical inputs.
You will consider the commercial and operational implications of design development, material selection, coordination decisions, and changes to project scope. Your approach to design delivery will reflect a clear understanding of client requirements, project objectives, and the wider commercial context of industrial development.

Mandatory Requirements
You must be proficient in Revit and able to produce accurate, detailed architectural design information to a high standard. You will bring strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a solid understanding of construction legislation, compliance, and industry standards.
You will have experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment and be confident coordinating architectural information with structural, civil, MEP, and specialist engineering disciplines. Experience within industrial, manufacturing, logistics, commercial, infrastructure, or other technically complex building environments will provide a strong foundation for delivering robust and practical design outputs.
Desirable Experience
Experience in manufacturing facilities, logistics and distribution centres, warehouses, process buildings, laboratories, data centres, energy facilities, or wider industrial estates will be highly advantageous. Familiarity with BIM standards, Revit project delivery, model coordination, clash detection, and common data environments will strengthen your ability to support complex projects.
Knowledge of CDM responsibilities, design risk management, technical assurance processes, and the operational requirements of industrial buildings would also be beneficial. Experience working with contractors, specialist suppliers, end users, or facilities teams, together with an understanding of construction-stage support and site-based delivery, will be welcomed.
