Wood Goldstraw Yorath is North Staffordshire's largest and longest-standing Architectural Practice and was established in 1874. The Practice operates nationally and is Quality Assured to ISO 9001. Operating in sectors such as private housing, social housing, commercial, industrial, health, educational, and ecclesiastical, Wood Goldstraw Yorath is a multi-disciplinary Practice whose core disciplines are Architecture, Quantity Surveying/construction cost management, CDM Consultancy/Principal Designers & Project Managers. We operate on an almost totally digital, paper-less basis utilizing BIM (Building Information Modelling) across all of our projects to facilitate a fully inclusive process culminating in successful, cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
Role Description
This is a full-time role and central to our in-house Architectural discipline located in our offices in Stoke on Trent. As a Senior member of one of our technical teams, your role will predominantly be to provide technical support to one of our Directors; occasionally assisting with surveys, feasibility and scheme design (i.e., RIBA work stages 0-3 incl) but principally developing stage 3 designs through the preparation of working drawings, details, specifications and schedules and job running/contract administration to ensure a cohesive and seamless design evolution and delivery (i.e., through RIBA work stages 4-7 incl). This is a hybrid role, with the majority of work being undertaken in our offices, but also allowing for flexibility to work remotely in compliance with our hybrid working policy. Currently, our workload is generally of a regional nature, although we work nationally. Accordingly, all applicants must hold a full, clean driver's license and have their own vehicle.

Qualifications/Experience
- Member of CIAT - preferably MCIAT or working towards achieving this.
- Must be capable of working in a team.
- Proficient in the use of BIM (We use ArchiCAD throughout - training will be given where necessary)
- Must be driven and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to 'think outside the box'
- Proficient knowledge of prevailing Building Regulations, associated legislation and best practice.
- Awareness of general build costs and ability to work within given budget cost limits
- Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Must be proficient in the use of general software tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, NBS, etc)
- Must be prepared to assist in mentoring younger and less experienced professionals in the Practice.
- Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in similar work environments.

Salary
