We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of Senior Architecture Specialist.
Sitting within Product Solutions, Securities Services, Markets and Securities Services (MSS), based in Edinburgh. The role is responsible for shaping scalable, controlled and client-relevant business and data capabilities across reporting, onboarding, client servicing, workflows, access management and digital platform solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to operate as a hybrid architecture leader across both business architecture and data architecture, translating strategic priorities into target-state operating models, business capabilities, process designs, data models, access frameworks and implementation roadmaps—improving client experience, simplifying processes and supporting scale across Securities Services.

In this role you will be responsible for:
- Leading integrated architecture solutioning across reporting, onboarding, client servicing, access control, dashboards, workflow enablement, target operating model redesign and digital journeys
- Translating business strategy into architecture roadmaps, covering capabilities, processes, data structures, permissions, platform enhancements and phased delivery plans
- Defining reusable standards, design patterns and governance approaches to reduce fragmentation and enable consistent scaling across platforms and regions
- Developing business architecture artefacts, including business capability maps, value streams, user journeys, operating models and high-level process structures aligned to strategic priorities
- Designing end-to-end data architecture (data flows, integration patterns, pipelines, APIs and consumption layers), including trusted data foundations (definitions, ownership, lineage and metadata)
- Acting as a trusted advisor and stakeholder leader across Product, Operations, Technology, Risk, COO, Client Services, Data and Architecture teams—aligning on trade-offs, priorities, rollout plans and adoption
- Embedding governance, risk and control requirements into designs, ensuring alignment to HSBC internal control standards, auditability, resilience and regulatory expectations
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Extensive experience in financial services across enterprise architecture, strategic change delivery, business architecture and data architecture
- Strong knowledge of enterprise data architecture (conceptual / logical / physical modelling, data flows, pipelines, metadata, lineage, semantic structures, reference/master data)
- Preferred domain experience in Securities Services (asset servicing, onboarding, reporting, client servicing, entitlements, workflow management)
- Strong knowledge of business architecture disciplines (capability mapping, value streams, target operating model design and process architecture), with experience translating strategy into actionable transformation roadmaps
- Strong understanding of data governance (ownership, quality, reconciliation, control points) and access control/entitlement models (segregation principles, hierarchy-based access, micro-entitlements)
- Strong capability in target-state design, prioritisation, implementation oversight and adoption, including working effectively in a matrix environment without direct reporting authority
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
