Join Strategic Asset Management and help transform how data, analytics and emerging AI technologies drive decision-making across Anglian Water.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced analyst who wants to remain hands-on with advanced analytics while operating as a recognised technical specialist. You'll play a key role in developing predictive analytics and machine learning solutions that influence how we invest in and manage critical water and water recycling assets.

Working within our growing Asset Analytics function, you'll collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and business stakeholders to solve complex real-world challenges, turning data into actionable insight that delivers value for customers, communities and the environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver advanced analytics, dashboards and insight products that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Apply statistical analysis, predictive analytics and machine learning techniques to complex asset management challenges.
  • Develop forecasting, regression and classification models that improve performance and support investment planning.
  • Build repeatable, scalable data pipelines and analytical workflows to improve efficiency and insight delivery.
  • Use storytelling and visualisation techniques to translate complex findings into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work alongside Data Scientists and Data Engineers to develop and scale innovative analytical solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to apply analytics, predictive modelling and AI-enabled approaches to business problems.
  • Work with innovation programs to leverage AI and other emerging technologies.

What we're looking for:

Technical Experience

  • Degree qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced SQL and Python and/or R skills.
  • Experience delivering complex analytics and insight products that drive business value. Strong understanding of statistical analysis, predictive analytics and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience using Power BI or equivalent data visualisation tools.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data structures and working with complex datasets.

  • Take ownership of your work, delivering high-quality outputs with attention to detail.
  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes, analytics and business outcomes.

  • Have a strong analytical mindset and enjoy solving complex problems.
  • Be self-motivating

Desirable: Experience working with senior stakeholders, building automated data pipelines, and exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and Databricks. Experience working within multidisciplinary analytics, engineering or data science teams would also be advantageous.
