Combining financial services, technology and an entrepreneurial approach, the bank is building a modern lending business focused on delivering innovative, bespoke financial solutions to its customers.

With a strong appetite for growth and a culture that encourages fresh thinking, commercial decision-making and collaboration, this is an exciting time to join the business. The bank has established a strong platform from which to continue its expansion and offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing organisation.

The Role

This is a key credit role offering significant responsibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to exercise personal lending authority, apply strong commercial judgement and contribute to the ongoing development of the bank's lending and risk framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and approve asset finance proposals within delegated lending authority, identifying, evaluating and mitigating credit risks.
  • Analyse financial statements, management information, cash flow forecasts and other relevant credit data to support sound lending decisions.
  • Prepare clear, concise and well-reasoned credit submissions and recommendations, escalating proposals requiring higher levels of authority.
  • Prepare papers and recommendations for Credit Committee consideration where appropriate.
  • Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, assessing customer performance, repayment behaviour, credit quality, security values, industry trends and external intelligence.
  • Recommend appropriate changes to credit ratings, limits or facilities where required.

  • Maintain high underwriting standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and legal requirements, including Consumer Duty, AML, financial crime prevention and data protection.
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers, Sales, Operations, distributors, brokers and other stakeholders to deliver efficient lending outcomes and a positive customer experience.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Board and Committee decisions, credit policy and wider business initiatives.
  • Maintain strong technical, regulatory and market knowledge and contribute to the development of credit risk controls and processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
