Senior Asset Inspector
Join a leading utilities company that champions innovation and service excellence. At Last Mile, we take pride in delivering high-quality solutions across the multi-utility sector. Our Wastewater team is growing, and we're excited to welcome a talented Senior Asset Inspector to join us.
As Senior Asset Inspector, you’ll play a key role in supporting the construction and adoption of wastewater infrastructure. Working closely with our site-based inspectors, you’ll help ensure Last Mile Asset Management assets are built to the required technical and safety standards. You’ll also liaise with developers and groundworkers to identify construction issues, support practical solutions and help achieve full compliance.
This is a site-based role, and we’ll aim to keep the projects you visit in and around your local area. From time to time, there may also be a need to travel across England and Wales, depending on project requirements.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Asset Inspector:
- Lead and coach the asset compliance team, ensuring wastewater network inspections are completed and recorded accurately in business systems.
- Oversee pre-adoption inspections, making sure assets meet industry guidance, procedures and required quality standards.
- Review construction quality, identify noncompliance and issue reports to the relevant internal and external parties.
- Provide technical advice and site support to inspectors, developers and stakeholders on health and safety, environmental, quality and best practice matters.
- Manage stakeholder communications, attend site coordination meetings and provide monthly reporting on inspections, issues and trends.
Experience / Knowledge:
- Relevant utility experience, with knowledge of wastewater assets and the design and installation process.
- Strong understanding of Design and Construction Guidance, CIRIA guidance and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience of site safety requirements, including NRSWA, risk assessments and auditing techniques.
- Confident using Microsoft applications and holding a full UK driving licence.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Craft Qualification or Apprenticeship
- National Water Hygiene Card
- SHEA Water CSCS
- NRSWA Street Works qualification
