Help us to make a world of difference

Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy. We work at the cutting edge of the transition to a sustainable, net zero world.

We're looking for a Senior Asset Management Lead II (2 year FTC) to lead the development of the Urenco Melting Facility (UMF), a major strategic programme that will deliver metallic waste treatment, recycling and declassification capabilities for Urenco and support future opportunities across the wider nuclear industry.

Reporting to the UNS Global Director, with a matrix relationship to the Head of UNS, this role will require close collaboration across Urenco Nuclear Stewardship (UNS) and Urenco. The successful candidate will work with internal and external stakeholders, build strategic partnerships across the UK and Europe, and provide leadership and credibility for the UMF programme and its future commercial development. The UMF will establish Capenhurst as Urenco's centre of excellence for metallic treatment and recycling, supporting future requirements across the wider Urenco Group whilst creating potential opportunities within the UK nuclear decommissioning market.

At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what we’re looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences. Along with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by some of the smartest minds in the industry.

About The Urenco Melting Facility (UMF)

The facility is also being developed with the potential to provide metallic treatment services to external customers, including organisations within the wider UK nuclear sector.

As the Senior Asset Management Lead II, you will play a pivotal role in taking the UMF from design and business case development through to Final Investment Decision (FID), while shaping the long-term commercial strategy, regulatory approach and future market opportunities for what is expected to become a unique strategic capability for both Urenco and the wider nuclear industry.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
