At Adur & Worthing, we are committed to taking an entrepreneurial and commercial approach to serving our communities and managing the built estate as well as possible. We are responsible for driving income to support essential council services.
So…
- Are you an RICS qualified surveyor looking to get involved helping to direct and manage a local estate and assist with a national strategic property fund?
- Have you considered a better work/life balance working with committed people and across a diverse and interesting estate?
- Have you successfully run commercial asset management properties, created value unexpectedly and are adaptable in your thinking?
- Do you wish to work with various types of buildings, our customers and tenants, including inspecting properties, organising client side refits, MEES changes, disposals and Landlord and Tenant work?
- Do you have some connection to the area and an interest in its future?
We are looking for an exceptional senior asset manager to work in the Property & Investment Team.
The councils have significant holdings of community and commercial property. We want to maximise value from these assets while updating our compliance with forthcoming environmental standards and ensuring our properties are safe and resilient.
The Adur District and Worthing Borough area provides a unique breadth of opportunity, as we own a wide variety of property types, from the Pier to offices, cafes, shops, industrial units, land and lots more besides. You will have experience of disposals, and exposure to both SME and large businesses as tenants. You will also relish the chance to get involved in Fund and community assets working alongside our property managers to drive participation and value for our communities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
