About the Role

TOPSHOP and TOPMAN are iconic British fashion brands with 60 years of heritage. Headquartered in London, the Brands have over 2 million customers across the globe through the ASOS platform and generate brand sales of c£200m. Our mission is to unlock the best of fashion for everyone, with creativity and innovation at our core.

Following the formation of a Joint Venture between ASOS and HEARTLAND in October 2024, ASOS is creating a standalone cross-functional team within ASOS which is dedicated to unlocking the huge growth potential of the TOPSHOP and TOPMAN brands. The brands will now benefit from ASOS infrastructure and resources while enjoying the creative freedom and agility of standalone brands.

The next 12 months for TOPSHOP and TOPMAN will see the expansion of the brands’ offline and online retail presence with the launch of Topshop.com and new wholesale partnerships.

Job Description

As an Assistant Buyer for Footwear & Accessories at Topshop, you'll play a key role in building relevant, trend-led and commercially successful ranges for our customer. Working closely with your Buyer, Merchandiser, Designers, Technologists and supplier partners, you'll help drive product development from concept through to launch, ensuring we bring the best product to market at the right time and price.

You'll combine commercial awareness, fashion instincts and strong organisational skills to support the delivery of a customer-focused range that contributes to sales, profit and brand growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the Buyer in developing and delivering commercially successful Footwear & Accessories ranges
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and brand partners to ensure great product, quality and value
  • Negotiating cost prices and delivery dates while maintaining positive supplier relationships
  • Monitoring sales performance, identifying opportunities and supporting action plans to maximise trade
  • Analysing customer, market and competitor trends to inform future product decisions
  • Working closely with Design, Merchandising and Technical teams throughout the product lifecycle
  • Managing the critical path to ensure key milestones are achieved and products launch on time
  • Supporting range reviews, sign-offs and strategy meetings with clear analysis and recommendations
  • Attending fit sessions and sample reviews, helping drive product improvements and approvals
  • Contributing to department strategy through identifying risks, opportunities and emerging customer trends
  • Championing sustainable and responsible sourcing practices in line with our Fashion with Integrity commitments
  • Championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion across everything you do

Qualifications

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about fashion, obsessed with product and highly attuned to the needs of the Footwear & Accessories customer.

You'll be commercially minded, collaborative and confident operating in a fast-paced retail environment.

We'd Love To Meet Someone Who Has

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer within a fashion retail business
  • Proven experience buying or supporting the buying function across Footwear and/or Accessories
  • A strong understanding of the TOPSHOP customer and emerging fashion trends
  • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to interpret sales and trading information
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to challenge, influence and contribute ideas
  • A passion for customer-first decision making and delivering great product
