We are looking to recruit outstanding individuals to become a pivotal part of our Leadership Support Centre (LSC) within Business Support Services, CBS.
Role Overview
The Senior Assistant will perform, coordinate, and oversee a number of operational and business-related administrative duties, while providing an extensive level of support to partners. Their primary role is to enable partners to make the best use of their time and to ensure that work is handled effectively and efficiently without a need for constant or direct supervision. They will add value to the business by having a direct impact on enabling partners to operate more efficiently and effectively. They will be the primary point of contact for internal and external clients on all matters relating to their partners and will serve as a key liaison to leadership and senior management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operations of the LSC, Business Support, including supporting the implementation of a support strategy, performance coaching, building community, and learning & development.
- Extensive calendar and diary management; scheduling client and senior stakeholder meetings.
- Coordinating schedules, meetings, and appointments.
- Client relationship; supporting meeting materials, coordinating schedules, organising logistics, and diary invites.
- Travel arrangements; arranging travel, PTA, visas, and booking accommodation.
- Expense management.
- Out-of-Office alternative contact; supporting the movement of client emails during periods of absence and leave of Senior Directors.
- Building strong relationships with key client EAs.
- Establishing a rapport with clients, Partners, Directors, and staff.
- Cover during periods of holiday and sickness.
- Maintaining a positive, professional, and proactive approach; articulates thoughts and ideas in a manner which instils confidence in others and builds relationships at all levels across the business and with external contacts.
- Supporting the day-to-day operations and deployment of the LSC EA team; proactively supporting business demand.
- Supporting the LSC management team in resolving escalations.
- Conflict resolution and ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
- Enhancing and championing national working policies and practices.
- Collaborating cross-geography and cross-culture to develop relationships with team members to ensure diverse contribution to solutions.
- Contribute to wider projects and initiatives within Business Support, as essential.
- Leading process and service delivery, supporting coaching and sharing knowledge with the team.
- Supporting diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
- Shared mailbox management: efficiently managing a high volume of emails through a shared mailbox, prioritising urgent requests, and ensuring timely responses.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience of working within a similar role as an EA, PA, or secretarial position. Showing excellent organizational and diary management skills.
- Maintains a positive, professional, and proactive approach; articulates thoughts and ideas in a manner which instils confidence in others and builds relationships at all levels across the business and with external contacts.
- Understands expectations and takes personal accountability for achieving high standards in their work output, is particularly detail-oriented, and proficient in their written work and communication skills.
- Understands partner's objectives and shows interest and awareness in the commercial and client activity of their area so they can effectively triage what’s needed.
- Manages and prioritises own work effectively under pressure and with an ever-changing workload, demonstrating resilience, a ‘can do attitude’ and taking initiative to keep their work on track to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates confidentiality, discretion, and personal sensitivity, complying with quality standards and risk management procedures.
- Demonstrates a willingness to own and solve problems independently and make decisions with confidence. Explores a range of solutions and proposes practical solutions.
- Talent development: Shows a strong commitment to develop new skills, work with new technologies, and support colleagues by sharing information and building team capability.
- GCSE education (or equivalent), including Math and English.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to draft own correspondence.
