We are recruiting for a Senior Associate to join our Banking, Future Energy team in Bristol or London, on a full-time, flexible working basis.
The team advises on all aspects of clean energy finance transactions, from construction and/or operational project financing, development financing and acquisition facilities to mezzanine holdco financings and across all renewables and renewables-adjacent technologies. The team comprises four Partners, a Managing Associate, four Associates and a Trainee and forms an integral part of the wider Future Energy sector group.
Your Role
The role will involve advising on a wide range of clean energy financings such as:
- Taking the lead on drafting and negotiating LMA facility agreements adapted with typical project finance provisions
- Drafting and negotiating associated security, intercreditor documentation and hedging agreements
- Supervision of Associates and Trainees in connection with the above
- Negotiating typical project finance ancillary finance documents such as equity support undertakings, direct agreements and collateral warranties
- Drafting of amendments, waivers and consents to existing transactions and supervision of Associates in respect of the same
- Supervision of Associates in the delivery of conditions precedent, management of financial close processes and general project management
- Managing the due diligence output prepared in connection with project finance transactions, liaising with the due diligence teams and implementing solutions to issues raised in the due diligence process in the finance documents and transaction structures
- Contribution to the team's knowledge sharing and precedent development and maintenance
- Support on business development activities such as the provision of client training and preparation of client know-how materials

- A Qualified Solicitor 4-7 years’ PQE with genuine experience, enthusiasm and market knowledge in project finance and the energy sector
- Excellent drafting skills, with the confidence to lead on and supervise the drafting and negotiation of key finance documents
- Motivated, intellectually curious and keen to continue to develop a long‑term practice in the energy sector
- A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
- Commercially aware with some exposure to business development and the ability to maintain and nurture strong client relationships
- A collaborative approach to work with an ambition to assist in the development of junior team members
