We are recruiting on behalf of a leading multidisciplinary consultancy for a Senior or Associate Building Surveyor to join their growing Buildings & Project management team. The Role
Key Responsibilities Include
- Delivering refurbishment, improvement and modernisation projects across a variety of sectors.
- Undertaking feasibility studies, preparing specifications, obtaining estimates and statutory approvals, and administering building contracts.
- Working with standard forms of contract including JCT and NEC.
- Providing a full range of professional Building Surveying services.
- Leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships.
- Mentoring and developing junior Building Surveyors, including supporting APC candidates through the RICS process.
- Supporting senior leadership with project delivery, business operations and team management.
- Carrying out surveys, inspections, schedules of condition and a range of professional consultancy services.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities, including preparing fee proposals and tender submissions.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with quality, health & safety and statutory compliance requirements.
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- A BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or another RICS-accredited degree.
- MRICS Chartered status (or be working towards chartership if applying at Senior level).
- Strong technical Building Surveying experience across a range of project and professional services.
- Experience managing client relationships and delivering projects commercially.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
- Excellent report writing and technical documentation skills, including feasibility studies, specifications and asset reviews.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
- Commercial awareness with an interest in business development and winning new work.
- Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
