Are you an experienced senior / Associate Civil Engineer looking for the next step in your career?
Our diverse client base covers all sectors, with an industry unique portfolio of projects in advanced manufacturing including the world of Formula One alongside prestigious projects in residential, commercial and industrial. With the potential for future progression, this role combines project, people and business unit management responsibilities.
You will lead some of the more complex projects, demonstrating strong technical, organisational and client-focused skills. Alongside this you will oversee the delivery team, directly line managing team leaders and supporting them with their team management duties. Supporting the business unit partner with financial management, compliance and reporting will also be a key part of the role.

Role and responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of key projects.
- Support BU Partner in financial management, business strategy, team structure and recruitment and contribution to income generation.
- Line management of team leaders (both civil and structural)– setting and monitoring development objectives, supporting on team development, embedding consistent working practices etc.
- Oversee project reviews across the team, focusing on technical, quality and financial.
- Oversee team resourcing, planning and project allocation.
- Preparation and negotiation of fee proposals, agreeing services, deliverables and programs.
- Monitor projects for variations and change control. Lead on negotiations for additional fees.
- Support colleagues in their progression to Chartership.
- Interface with other disciplines and offices across the business.
- Contribute to and take active role in companywide focus groups.
- Contribute to and take active role in service focus groups.
- Represent the company at external meetings with clients and fellow professionals.

Experience and skills required
- Chartered with ICE or IStructE
- A relevant engineering qualification (MEng or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills, in both written and spoken English
- You will have extensive design experience across a broad range of project and client types.
- Evidence experience of working in a similar role, with experience in comparable and relevant sectors.
- Possess a good working knowledge of current design standards and technical software packages.
- Experience of leading a team of engineers and technicians.
- Hold current UK driving licence
