We are a flexible, friendly and inclusive organisation with as clear a focus on fresh thinking as we have on growth and success. We value and nurture our people’s potential and inspiration and give them a creative, open and collaborative environment in which to develop a career and succeed.
We believe that whatever your legal experience, you’ll find Michelmores different. From day one we encourage our people to forge relationships and expand their understanding and knowledge of areas that interest them – developing an understanding of commercial challenges and opportunities, rather than just knowing the law. At Michelmores, we believe in empowering our people to thrive. That’s why we’ve launched Michelmores Academy – our innovative skills development framework designed to support your career progression at every stage.
Through a blend of core programmes and elective sessions, the Academy helps you build the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to deliver exceptional client service and drive sustainable growth. Whether you're attending live workshops or exploring our digital learning resources – including e-learning, podcasts, and best practice guides – you'll have the tools to grow professionally and personally.
Aligned with our strategic vision, the Academy focuses on key pillars that will deliver our strategic aims. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with peers across the Firm, expand your network, and benefit from mentoring relationships that support your long-term success.
What sort of work?
Right now, our highly regarded Construction team is looking for an experienced Senior Associate to join them, with a real focus on non-contentious work.
This position offers an opportunity to broaden your knowledge and progress your career in a supportive team environment.
In this role you will undertake primarily non-contentious work, although we would also like to hear from candidates who are willing and able to undertake contentious work too. Working alongside Partners Anna Wood, Ashley Pigott, Maria Greener and Managing and Senior Associates across the team, you will act for both public and private sector clients across the construction supply chain, primarily on the employer/client side. Your files will relate to high value and often high profile regional and national developments across a broad range of sectors including energy and infrastructure, health, education, commercial, and consumer brands.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
