We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our London Corporate practice.

This role sits within our Technology, Media & Communications (TMC) and Gambling team and offers an exciting opportunity to work on a broad range of domestic and cross-border M&A, venture capital, growth capital and strategic corporate transactions. You will advise founders, growth companies, institutional investors, venture capital funds, private equity houses and corporates operating in some of the most dynamic sectors of the economy.

Working alongside leading corporate partners and sector specialists, you will play a key role on high-profile and complex transactions while developing deep TMC sector expertise and building long-term client relationships.

Our Sector Expertise

CMS is recognised as one of Europe's leading firms for the TMC and Gambling sectors. We are consistently ranked by Chambers and Legal 500 across these sectors and are one of the largest and most experienced TMC and Gambling practices in the UK and Europe, with more than 300 lawyers advising clients across the full range of legal disciplines.

Our clients operate across technology, communications, digital infrastructure, software, data-driven businesses, gaming, gambling and other innovative sectors. This breadth of sector coverage generates a significant volume of buy-side and sell-side M&A, venture capital, growth capital and other strategic corporate transactions.

About the Role

You’ll work on cross border deals from day one, the majority of which will involve bespoke and unusual structures and dynamics which provide excellent opportunities to challenge an ambitious and creative corporate lawyer. You’ll collaborate across our 90 plus international offices and work closely with experts in tax, share schemes, IP, data protection, commercial tech, gambling regulatory, competition and disputes to deliver deals in some of the fastest moving sectors of the global economy. We want our corporate lawyers to become genuine subject matter experts in the industry sectors they are immersed in.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
