Senior Building Surveyor - Associate Director

Bristol | Building Surveying | Multidisciplinary Consultancy

A senior Building Surveying opportunity with plenty of room to grow.

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is continuing to expand its Building Surveying team in Bristol and is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor through to Associate Director.

This is an opportunity to join an established and growing team, working alongside wider disciplines and delivering a varied portfolio of projects for high-profile public and private sector clients.

The role offers genuine variety across healthcare, education, residential, defence, commercial, infrastructure and public sector projects, with the opportunity to take ownership of key commissions, develop client relationships and play an active role in the continued growth of the Bristol Building Surveying team.

For an experienced Senior Surveyor, this could be an ideal opportunity to take the next step into a leadership position. For an established Associate Director, it offers the chance to make a real impact on the development of a growing regional team.

The role

You'll have the opportunity to combine hands-on technical Building Surveying with project leadership, client management and business development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a broad range of Building Surveying and consultancy services.
  • Managing projects from inception through to completion and handover.
  • Undertaking and overseeing building surveys and technical assessments.
  • Taking responsibility for key projects and high-profile client accounts.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Identifying opportunities for repeat business and supporting the generation of new work.
  • Preparing scopes, fee proposals, tenders and contractual documentation.
  • Contributing to bids and new business opportunities alongside the wider marketing and business development teams.
  • Managing project workloads, resources and service delivery.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues across the Building Surveying team.
  • Mentoring and developing less experienced surveyors and supporting their professional progression.
  • Working collaboratively with other disciplines to deliver joined-up solutions for clients.
  • Supporting the continued development and growth of the Bristol Building Surveying offering.
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments, legislation and best practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
