Join our Cambridge Building Services team as an experienced, commercially focused Senior Associate Electrical Design Engineer
You’ll lead high-quality electrical building services design across education, commercial, residential, healthcare and public sector projects, while helping the team grow and develop.
In this client-facing leadership role, you’ll build trusted relationships, provide technical direction and support engineers at every stage of their careers. You’ll strengthen key client relationships, create repeat business opportunities and guide projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- You’ll lead electrical engineering delivery on complex multidisciplinary projects.
- You’ll develop strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and primary point of contact.
- You’ll lead project meetings, workshops and technical discussions with clients, contractors and design teams.
- You’ll provide technical leadership and quality assurance for electrical design deliverables.
- You’ll mentor and develop graduates and engineers, support chartership progression, plan resources and provide day-to-day technical guidance. You’ll also support recruitment and the continued growth of the Cambridge Building Services team.
- You’ll identify and secure new opportunities through existing client relationships and business development.
- You’ll contribute to fee proposals, project planning, risk management and financial performance, while promoting innovation, digital delivery and best practice across Ridge.

About You
- You’ll have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- You’ll be a Chartered Engineer, or working towards chartership, with a recognised professional institution such as the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers or the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
- You’ll bring significant experience of designing and delivering electrical building services projects, together with a strong understanding of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
- You’ll communicate clearly, manage stakeholders confidently and have experience of leading project teams and client relationships.
- You’ll have a strong record of mentoring and developing engineers and graduates.
- You’ll combine commercial awareness with a sound understanding of project financial management.
- You’ll also have experience of working in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
