Position: Senior Associate - Employment
Type: Full-time, 5 days a week (flexibility may be considered - ability to work flexibly)
Location: Remote
Salary Range: £55K to £70K (depending on experience, plus commission)
Qualifications: 4 years + PQE (Solicitor or CILEX) required
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role is a Senior Associate role in the employment team. The role will report to Tessa Harris (Employment Law Director).
Responsibilities
The responsibilities will be as follows (please note that these are not exhaustive, but comprise the core duties):
New Client Enquiries
- Using the Firm’s CRM system to review, record, and process new client enquiries, including recording quotes
- Promptly contacting allocated new client enquiries to the Firm to discuss their requirements
- Obtaining documents from potential new clients and placing them on the relevant file on the Firm’s document management system
- Acting as the ‘point of contact’ for potential new clients to ensure smooth onboarding
- Liaising with the core admin team regarding new enquiries
- Assessing No Win No Fee suitability for new enquiries
Case Handling
- Undertaking effective case management, including ensuring that files are closed promptly upon completion of the matter
- Using the Firm’s practice management system (Clio) and CRM (Lawmatics) efficiently and effectively to ensure that all emails, correspondence, telephone calls, attendance notes, key case updates, and client communications are fully and accurately recorded on the relevant matter file
- Managing your own caseload of between 20 and 25 live files (a mixture of contentious and non-contentious matters)
- Advising clients clearly and effectively on employment law matters, while providing a high standard of client care throughout the life of each matter
- Billing on average 3 to 5 hours per day
- Assisting when necessary on matters owned by senior Lawyers within the Firm

Internal
- Assist as deputy to Employment Law Director, which may involve supervising lawyers, trainees, paralegals
- Assistance with marketing, including drafting/assistance with drafting articles for Redmans website and external publications
- Contribute and provide ideas for development and ways forward to support and grow the business
- Ensuring that invoicing for billable work is completed promptly, accurately, and in accordance with company policy and internal procedures
- Working collaboratively with the legal team to discuss the progression of cases, and ensure appropriate support and continuity of client service during periods of leave
- Ensuring you are complying with your own CPD and relevant qualification continuing development requirements, including attendance at internal training
- Attend Team calls with colleagues and scheduled weekly meetings to ensure you and your colleagues feel supported in a remote working environment

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
- 4 years or more PQE (Solicitor or CILEX)
- Ideal candidates will have practical employment law experience on both contentious and non-contentious matters, including knowledge and experience of Employment Tribunal practice and procedure, experience of dealing with all areas of employment law, including but not limited to, unfair and constructive unfair dismissal, automatic unfair dismissal, whistleblowing detriment, discrimination, TUPE, unlawful deduction from wages, and breach of contract, and experience in advising on settlement agreements
- Ambitious and driven to promote the Firm and oneself to build their own caseload and bill accordingly
- Right to work in the UK (not offering sponsorship)
- Willingness to learn and contribute to driving Redmans Solicitors forward
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote position

- Ability to work collaboratively as a team and yet independently, having responsibility for their own caseload
