Senior Associate – Family (4+ PQE)
Location: Scotland, open to semi remote discussion
Firm: Specialist Family Law Practice | UK Presence | Growing Scottish Team
Salary: Generous Salary + Excellent Benefits
The Role
This is more than an opportunity to take on increasingly complex work; it’s the chance to join a boutique Family firm where your experience carries real influence and where you can play a meaningful role in shaping both the practice and your own career.
The team has clear plans for growth across Scotland, and is looking for a Senior Associate who wants to be part of that journey rather than simply slot into an established structure. You’ll bring your existing Family Law expertise into a role with responsibility, managing a varied caseload of financial and children matters while acting as a senior point of contact for clients and colleagues. You’ll be trusted to run your matters with a high degree of autonomy, supported by a wider team when you need it.
The role is particularly suited to someone who has reached the point in their career where progression, influence and the ability to make a difference matter as much as the quality of the work itself.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
