Senior Associate - Gaming, Technology & Commercial (4-7 PQE)

Location

Hybrid (Remote Working & Office in Chancery Lane, London)

Working Hours

40 hours per week

About SteelRose

SteelRose is seeking a Senior Associate to join its expanding Gaming, Technology & Commercial practice. This role offers the opportunity to work with innovative technology companies, gaming and digital entertainment businesses, founders, investors and high-growth ventures on a broad range of commercial, regulatory and strategic matters.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • 4-7 years' PQE in Commercial, Technology and/or Corporate Law
  • Strong experience advising technology, gaming, digital media, entertainment or other high-growth businesses
  • Experience managing client relationships and leading matters with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures or strategic transactions is advantageous
  • Experience supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers and trainees

Primary Responsibilities

Advisory, Transactions & Commercial Matters

  • Advise technology, gaming and digital entertainment businesses on commercial, regulatory and strategic matters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial, technology and intellectual property agreements, including licensing, SaaS, development, platform and strategic partnership agreements
  • Advise clients on regulatory and licensing frameworks relevant to technology, gaming and digital businesses
  • Lead and support mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, restructurings and other strategic transactions
  • Manage transaction processes, due diligence exercises and deal workstreams
  • Advise founders, operators and investors on governance, growth strategies and international expansion
  • Identify legal and commercial risks and provide practical, business-focused recommendations
  • Support clients with intellectual property commercialisation, product launches and strategic business initiatives

Client & Team Management

  • Act as a principal point of contact for clients, understanding their commercial objectives and delivering tailored advice
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their commercial objectives and delivering tailored advice
  • Oversee junior lawyers and trainees, providing guidance, feedback and support
  • Contribute to internal know-how, training and process improvement initiatives

Firm Development

  • Participate in business development initiatives, networking and thought leadership opportunities
  • Support the firm's strategic growth within the Gaming, Technology & Commercial sector
  • Contribute to the continued development and expansion of the practice

  • Technology companies, gaming and digital entertainment businesses, digital platforms, start-ups, scale-ups, founder-led businesses and investors.
