Contentious Probate Senior Associate/Principal Associate – Manchester or Leeds – 5+ PQE up to £90,000 plus bonus
A highly regarded national law firm is looking to appoint a Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its established and specialist Disputed Wills, Trusts & Estates team.
This Contentious Probate Solicitor opportunity offers high-quality HNW work, exposure to complex and high-value disputes and the opportunity to develop your career within a well-established national practice.
The Role
- Manage a varied caseload of contentious trusts and estates matters
- Advise on will validity claims, trust disputes and estate administration disputes
- Handle Inheritance Act claims, proprietary estoppel and professional negligence matters
- Deal with disputes involving trustees, executors and beneficiaries
- Work on complex and high-value matters, including multi-jurisdictional disputes
- Manage your own caseload with limited supervision
- Work closely with experienced Partners on technical matters
- Attend client meetings, conferences and court hearings
- Contribute to business development and profile-raising activity
- Support more junior members of the team where appropriate

The Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor with 5+ PQE or equivalent experience
- Strong experience in contentious probate / contentious trusts and estates
- Ideally working exclusively within contentious probate
- Extensive litigation experience with strong technical ability
- Experience handling complex and high-value disputes
- Commercial, solution-driven and client-focused approach
- Comfortable dealing with emotionally sensitive and complex matters
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ambitious with a genuine interest in developing within contentious probate
