Referment

Referment is working with a specialist UK law firm advising public-sector and commercial clients on infrastructure, public law, procurement and complex projects. The firm is looking for a senior lawyer who can manage substantial matters, support partners on the most complex work and help develop junior colleagues.

The role combines technical infrastructure work with client ownership, supervision and practice development. You will act as a trusted point of expertise while maintaining strong standards around delivery, commercial management and professional conduct.

The Role

  • Lead medium-complexity matters and support partners on larger projects.
  • Manage client relationships, communicate progress and costs clearly, and maintain high standards of care.
  • Delegate and supervise work, providing guidance to associates, solicitors and trainees.
  • Contribute to tenders, events, articles and other relevant business-development activity.
  • Take responsibility for time recording, billing, work in progress and credit control across your caseload.

  • A qualified solicitor, recognised foreign equivalent or CILEX lawyer with current infrastructure experience.
  • The technical confidence to act as a subject-matter expert and support more junior lawyers.
  • Strong drafting, analysis, negotiation, organisation and client-management skills.
  • Sound commercial judgement and an interest in developing clients and the wider practice.

This could suit an experienced infrastructure lawyer ready for broader matter ownership, team supervision and a visible role in practice development.
