We are seeking a motivated associate to join the EMEA Capital Markets Operations team, supporting international settlements across multiple markets.

About the Role

As a Senior Associate within the International Settlements team, you will play a key role in supporting the end-to-end settlement of securities transactions across EMEA markets. You will be responsible for managing more complex breaks ensuring robust controls and contributing to the development of processes within a newly established function.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with global stakeholders, enhance your product and market knowledge, and actively contribute to building a scalable and efficient settlements platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the settlement lifecycle of securities transactions across EMEA markets, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Investigate and resolve complex settlement breaks, including unmatched trades, fails, and cash/stock discrepancies
  • Monitor settlement exposures and escalate risks appropriately
  • Liaise with brokers, custodians, clients, and internal stakeholders to facilitate issue resolution
  • Perform and review reconciliations across systems and accounts
  • Ensure adherence to market deadlines, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks
  • Support the development and enhancement of processes, controls, and operating procedures
  • Contribute to automation and efficiency initiatives within the settlements function
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members where required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
  • 3–5 years of experience in capital markets operations, preferably in settlements or trade support
  • Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and settlement processes across multiple asset classes
  • Familiarity with EMEA market practices and settlement cycles (e.g., T+2)
  • Experience with industry platforms such as Euroclear, Clearstream, CREST, or similar is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
