About Us

We are a boutique independent multidisciplinary professional services firm serving an international client base including entrepreneurs, privately owned businesses, family offices, investors and high-net-worth individuals. As part of our strategic growth plans, we are seeking an exceptional Senior Associate to establish, develop and ultimately lead our Dispute Resolution offering. Our offices are situated in Farringdon.

The Opportunity

This role offers a genuine career progression to Partnership and ultimately Head of Dispute Resolution. The successful candidate will work closely with firm leadership and an experienced external Dispute Resolution Consultant who will provide strategic support, mentoring and technical guidance assisting in the growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a varied caseload of commercial civil litigation disputes both for domestic and international clients spread across many jurisdictions.
  • Have experience of cross border litigation and conflict of laws issues.
  • Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk management and dispute resolution.
  • Develop and grow the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice.
  • Work with senior and junior counsel, experts and be used to instructing lawyers in foreign jurisdictions and working with them.
  • Have existing potential referral relationships and a demonstrable track record of generating new business opportunities.
  • Support recruitment, mentoring and development of future team members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple professional disciplines.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Experience gained in magic circle or mid - tier firms.
  • Minimum 2.1 degree from recognised university.
  • Have established client contacts and be their “go to” lawyer.
  • Ranking or recognition in Chambers or other legal directory would be helpful.
  • Typically, 6–10+ years PQE in domestic and international dispute resolution.
  • Knowledge and experience in resolving disputes by arbitration would be helpful.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of the Civil Procedure Rules and technical expertise in civil litigation generally.
  • Identifiable networks of referral opportunities and of foreign lawyers.
  • Support for your application from any leading or junior Counsel you may have worked with on a regular basis would be helpful.
  • Demonstrable business development capability.
  • Commercial, entrepreneurial and leadership mindset.
  • Strong and genuine ambition to progress to Partnership and Department Head.
