The Team

Our Marine Assets and Projects team is focused on transactional, non-contentious marine and projects work. We act primarily for owners, operators, and stakeholders such as major energy companies. We are proud of our reputation for delivering first-class, commercially efficient advice for our clients across a broad range of commercial shipping and marine projects. We can advise on the entire lifecycle of a ship, from shipbuilding contracts to financing, ship recycling, and everything in between.

Our team acts for some of the world’s largest companies and is involved in transactions relating to all types of vessels, including:

  • Bulk carriers
  • Container ships
  • Tankers
  • Reefers
  • Cruise ships
  • Yachts
  • Offshore rigs
  • FSRUs
  • FPSOs
  • Other floating energy projects
  • Supply and support vessels

We advise on all related contracts, including industry standard forms and drafting bespoke contracts. We are also familiar with and negotiate various forms of vessel financing, including traditional loans, sale and leaseback, and JOLCO structures.

The Role

The candidate will be a core member of our London Marine Assets and Projects team. The candidate will work closely with various other practice areas, including our corporate teams, marine litigation, and our international offices. The ideal candidate will have experience in most of these areas:

  • Shipbuilding contracts
  • Ship sale and purchase (ideally being able to manage the transaction with some supervision)
  • Ship financing
  • Bareboat charters
  • Long-term time charter parties

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
