The opportunity
We are recruiting for a highly exciting and influential role within Stone King’s nationally renowned Real Estate team, offering the opportunity to work on a broad range of high-value and complex commercial property matters across a diverse client base. As a Senior Associate, you will play a leading role in advising developers, investors, occupiers, lenders and landowners on strategic transactions, while helping to shape the future growth of one of the firm's key practice areas.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, leadership skills and a genuine passion for building trusted client relationships and developing those around them.
You’ll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality legal advice on complex commercial property transactions, while helping to develop junior lawyers, strengthen client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the Real Estate practice. Working alongside specialists across Corporate, Construction and Planning, you'll have the opportunity to build your profile, broaden your networks and establish yourself as a trusted adviser within the commercial property market.
Based in our Bath, Birmingham or Leeds office, this role offers hybrid working and the opportunity to join a highly respected team with genuine scope for career progression, leadership and long-term growth.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial property matters, including acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant work, development projects and property finance transactions.
- Leading complex real estate transactions, ensuring exceptional client service and commercial outcomes.
- Advising clients on legal and commercial risks while providing pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial property documentation, including leases, agreements for lease, sale contracts, licences and ancillary documents.
- Building and strengthening long-term client relationships while identifying opportunities for further support and growth.
- Collaborating with colleagues across Corporate, Construction and Planning teams to deliver joined-up legal solutions.
- Supervising, mentoring and developing junior solicitors, trainees and support staff.
- Taking a leading role in business development activities, including networking events, seminars, client events and thought leadership initiatives.
- Contributing to the strategic growth of the Real Estate practice through client development and new business generation.
- Maintaining a strong awareness of market trends and developments affecting the commercial property sector.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards and firm-wide risk management procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience advising on commercial property transactions with the ability to independently manage complex matters from start to finish
- A broad background across commercial property work, including acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant matters, development projects or property finance transactions
- Experience supervising, mentoring and developing more junior colleagues
- Strong business development skills and a track record of generating opportunities and building client relationships
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including handling complex conversations with confidence and professionalism
- Strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and financial discipline
- Proven ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently and effectively
- A collaborative, solutions-focused and leadership-oriented approach to client service and team development

Desirable Experience
- Experience operating at Senior Associate level or within a similar commercial property role
- Experience contributing to pitches, tenders, networking and client development initiatives
- Established professional network within the commercial property sector
- Experience supporting the strategic growth of a practice area or client portfolio
