Job Description
What is the opportunity?
The successful candidate will join the Solutions Enablement Team which has been created to support advisers to open cash accounts for existing RBC Brewin Dolphin clients. This team straddles two worlds, RBC Brewin Dolphin and RBC WME and is critical to the integration of these entities. With significant firmwide targets, it is crucial that we develop a team to support the onboarding process and continue to make enhancements to ensure the client experience is truly world class.
As a Senior Associate, the successful candidate will drive excellence in service delivery, offer mentorship to colleagues, and work to optimise operational processes. This role requires the ability to juggle tasks and would suit someone who has a strong problem-solving skillset and is looking to flex their leadership skills.
RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
- Implementing the onboarding lifecycle, for all client types including HNWIs, corporates, trusts, and charities.
- Building trust with internal stakeholders to give them confidence in the process and enhance the clients’ experience.
- Acting as a contact for internal partners and clients, providing full expert support and assistance with day-to-day banking and operational requirements.
- Reporting Pod activities, performance metrics, and key updates to the SET Manager on a weekly basis, ensuring transparency and alignment with wider organizational goals.
- Leading daily Pod Calls to discuss priorities, challenges, and progress, fostering a collaborative and focused team environment.
- Working with the Manager and business partners to give feedback on ways to improve the process as well as helping to identify training needs of the broader advisor community to enhance and support client service.
- Serving as a mentor to Pod members, providing guidance, feedback, and support to enhance their professional development and performance, aligning to RBC’s values of integrity and collaboration.
- Overseeing the initial and ongoing training of Pod members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Developing and updating procedures to streamline workflows and ensure compliance and maintain operational efficiency.
- Acting as the first point of escalation for issues within the Pod, providing timely and effective resolution. Leading the correction of Operational Risk Events (OREs) in collaboration with Pod members, ensuring accurate documentation via Open Pages reports.
- Taking ownership of complex referrals assigned to the Pod, demonstrating expertise and leadership in resolving more intricate cases.
- Providing actionable feedback on day-to-day operations, leveraging frontline insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Completing testing for projects on an ad hoc basis to continue to drive broader process improvements. Integral to work with the SET Manager to ensure this aligns to workload.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
