Senior Associate – Strategic Communications
We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Associate to join our growing Strategic Communications team. You will work on a diverse portfolio of residential, renewable energy, commercial, and mixed-use development projects, helping clients navigate complex planning and engagement challenges through effective communications and stakeholder engagement.
The role
As a Senior Associate, you will play a leading role in the delivery of stakeholder engagement, public consultation, and strategic communications programs for a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with colleagues, clients, and multidisciplinary consultant teams, you will help shape engagement strategies, manage communications programs from inception through to planning submission, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality consultation activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking political analysis, stakeholder mapping, and research to inform engagement strategies.
- Preparing a range of communications materials, including stakeholder correspondence, public exhibition boards, consultation leaflets, newsletters, website content, and digital communications.
- Liaising with graphic designers, planning consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality engagement materials.
- Analyzing consultation feedback and preparing reports, including Statements of Community Involvement and consultation summaries.
- Organizing and coordinating public consultation events, including venue booking, event logistics, and invitation distribution.
- Attending and helping to deliver public exhibitions, stakeholder meetings, and community engagement events across the UK.
- Supporting the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement and communications strategies for a wide range of planning and development projects.

In this role, you will:
- Work with a broad range of clients across the development, infrastructure, and renewable energy sectors.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, local authorities, elected representatives, and key stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to grow client relationships and contribute to winning new business.
- Manage projects effectively, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard, on time, and within budget.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A university degree with a minimum 2:1 honours classification (or equivalent), together with at least three years' experience in a consultancy or in-house communications, public affairs, planning, or stakeholder engagement role, ideally within the built environment, infrastructure, or renewable energy sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate content.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and positive approach, with the confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine interest in planning, development, and the role of community engagement in shaping places.
- A commitment to building lasting client relationships and delivering an excellent service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe InDesign would be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel across the UK to attend meetings and public consultation events where required.
