Job Description

What is the opportunity?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate, Wealth Management to join our team in Edinburgh.

In this role will be principally responsible for assisting and maintaining existing client relationships and actively supporting business growth through contribution to team and office business development activities.

A key part of the role would entail aspects such as assisting and maintaining client base and relationships, digital adoption, actively developing subject knowledge on end-to-end wealth management, client advice process, and industry.

RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

What will you do?

  • Assisting the management of a client base under guidance of a senior colleague – Wealth Manager.
  • To participate in client meetings and build confidence through support of senior colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with One RBC partners and functional colleagues across platforms, and partner with other business units to ensure clients are receiving exceptional services.
  • Proactive focus on supporting with originating new business opportunities through clients and ensure that clients are referred internally to ‘home of best fit’.
  • Where applicable, produces a portfolio of solutions to meet clients’ needs and delivers ongoing monitoring and review, making changes where appropriate to deliver continued suitability of wealth management with instruction from senior colleagues.
  • Always act in the best interest of the client by actively going above and beyond to enhance the client experience, including partnering internally to improve processes, positive feedback from clients, timely processing of client requests, etc.
  • Fully understanding the existing and new digital capabilities, driving client adoption as part of the overall advice led wealth management proposition.
  • Provision of regulated advice across all standard advice areas, under the guidance of more senior wealth managers or directors whilst ensuring good client outcomes.
  • Providing regulated advice against all licenced areas as advised by the licensing matrix assigned dependent on qualifications and experience.
  • Shares and builds knowledge within the team by contributing to team/office meetings.
  • Supports all team members and provides guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Ensure adherence to group values, policies, procedures, and working practices. Managing and operating within a risk management framework. Adhering to Conduct Risk Standards.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven experience required within a Wealth Management / Investment role.
  • Good communication, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Completed / progressing through relevant exams i.e. CISI, CFA, IMC.
  • Works collaboratively using an inclusive approach but can work on own initiatives to achieve the required results

Nice-to-have

  • Experience dealing with Independent Financial Advisers.
  • Awareness of RBC Brewin Dolphin’s values and culture.
