Come join our TJX team—a Fortune 100 company and the world’s leading off-price retailer.

Role Overview

TJX Europe (trading as TK Maxx and HomeSense) is seeking an employment lawyer to join our growing Legal Department, and to support the European business. The role is based in our European Head Office in Watford, UK and will join an established European employment legal team of 5 employment lawyers (4 based in Watford, 1 based in Germany).

The role will primarily be responsible for providing employment legal guidance and support in relation to our operations in the UK, but with a remit to also support in giving legal advice across our European operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Advisory: Providing timely and accurate individual and collective employment law advice and counsel to business partners on a broad spectrum of legal issues, including exit procedures, disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, pay and benefits, employment documentation, right to work, TUPE and strategic projects. Providing sensitive, risk-based advice to senior stakeholders on individual and collective labour law issues and risks.
  • Employment Rights Act 2025: Advising on the application and implementation of the ERA 2025, supporting the business in adapting to significant changes in UK employment law (including new rights of access), assessing legal risk, updating policies and practices and delivering strategic guidance on compliance.
  • Trade Unions and Works Councils: Advising on collective matters, including trade union and works council issues.
  • Employment Disputes: Managing employment disputes in collaboration with HR and external counsel.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Staying abreast of new UK and EU employment laws and regulations that might impact on TJX Europe’s operations and supporting the business in ensuring compliance. Developing and implementing precedents, policies, and procedures. Identifying and maintaining visibility of trends and risk areas. Strategic management of employment and employment compliance legal risk (both existing and on the horizon).
  • Training and Education: Conducting or supporting the provision of legal training and legal updates, both within the function and the wider business.
  • External Relationships: Managing effective relationships (locally and cross border), with external legal counsel, including budgets. Co-ordination of external counsel advice across different European jurisdictions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
