The Opportunity
We're supporting a leading organisation in the search for a Senior Audio Visual Specialist to take ownership of a diverse and evolving AV estate across teaching spaces, lecture theatres, meeting rooms, event spaces and hybrid collaboration environments.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced AV professional to play a key role in shaping the future of audio visual services. Working across both operational and project-based activities, you'll lead the design and delivery of innovative AV solutions, provide technical expertise across the wider organisation and help drive the adoption of modern teaching and collaboration technologies.
This role offers the chance to influence strategic decisions whilst remaining technically hands-on, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while contributing to longer-term technology planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation and ongoing enhancement of audio visual solutions across the organisation.
- Act as the technical lead for AV infrastructure, ensuring systems remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose.
- Support the development of future AV technology strategy and service improvements.
- Deliver AV projects from requirements gathering and design through to implementation, testing and handover.
- Produce technical specifications and provide expert advice on AV technologies and best practice.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and develop effective AV solutions.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, integrators and support partners.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across AV projects and operational activities.
- Support procurement and evaluation of AV technologies and solutions.
- Ensure AV services effectively support hybrid learning, collaboration and modern workplace initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend opportunities for innovation and service enhancement.
- Provide senior-level troubleshooting and escalation support for complex AV issues.

Essential Experience
- Strong experience working within professional Audio Visual, Unified Communications or Collaboration Technology environments.
- Experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise AV solutions.
- Good knowledge of AV-over-IP (AVoIP) and modern networked AV technologies.
- Experience working with digital signal processing (DSP), control systems and integrated AV solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across complex AV environments.
- Experience delivering AV projects and working with third-party suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within a busy environment.

Desirable Experience
- Experience with Q-SYS, Dante, Crestron, Extron or similar enterprise AV platforms.
- Knowledge of hybrid learning, lecture capture or Microsoft Teams Rooms technologies.
- Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site or campus-based AV environments.
- Understanding of AV networking, switching, multicast and AV-over-IP deployments.
- Experience contributing to procurement, tender exercises or supplier evaluations.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to colleagues.
