Senior Audit Reviewer

Overview of the role

We are delighted to be supporting a leading professional membership body with the appointment of a Senior Audit Reviewer.

This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified accountant with significant UK external audit experience, ideally at manager or senior manager level, to move into a role offering greater professional autonomy, variety and control over your workload.

You will undertake monitoring and quality reviews of individuals and firms registered to conduct audit work in the UK and Ireland. You will assess audit work against relevant professional, regulatory and ethical standards, engage with experienced audit practitioners and produce clear, robust written reports.

The role is predominantly home-based, with very limited travel, and offers the opportunity to work independently while being part of an established and supportive team.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertake monitoring and audit quality reviews of registered individuals and firms in line with prescribed procedures and professional standards.
  • Review audit work and assess compliance with relevant auditing, ethical and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage confidently with experienced and qualified audit practitioners, including challenging findings where appropriate.
  • Conduct review meetings remotely and, where required, undertake occasional visits to practices.
  • Produce clear, accurate and timely written reports following each review.
  • Manage your own diary and workload effectively against agreed departmental targets.
  • Maintain a high level of professional judgement and independence when assessing audit quality and compliance.
  • Contribute to a consistent and effective approach to monitoring across the team.

About the role

This role would suit an experienced audit professional who enjoys working with a high degree of autonomy and is confident making independent professional judgements.

You will generally manage one review at a time, allowing you to focus on the quality of your work while retaining ownership of your diary and workload.

The successful candidate will join an established team of Senior Audit Reviewers and will be supported throughout the role, while having significant professional independence in how they organise and deliver their work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
