33kV Senior Authorised Person – Long-Term Contract – Southern England - SSEN patch - Monday to Friday

I’m working with a major contractor delivering an extensive programme of new connections, asset replacement and capital works across the SSEN DNO network. They are looking to appoint two experienced 33kV Senior Authorised Persons to support a growing portfolio of cable, substation and overhead line projects.

The role will involve:

  • Acting as a Senior Authorised Person across 11kV and 33kV networks.
  • Planning and undertaking HV switching, isolations and restoration activities.
  • Preparing and coordinating outage requirements and switching schedules.
  • Establishing and maintaining Safety from the System.
  • Preparing, issuing, receiving and cancelling safety documents.
  • Supporting new connections, cable, substation and overhead line projects.
  • Providing technical advice and operational support to site teams.
  • Coordinating with Network Control, project managers and delivery personnel.
  • Supporting planned shutdowns, overnight switching and occasional weekend work.
  • Assisting with the development of 11kV SAPs progressing towards higher authorisations.

Experience required:

  • Current or previous SSEN Senior Authorised Person experience at 33kV (those without SFT will be considered)
  • Strong practical knowledge of 11kV and 33kV distribution systems.
  • Experience carrying out switching and managing HV safety documentation.
  • Experience across cables, substations, overhead lines, connections or asset replacement.
  • Candidates requiring further authorisation development may still be considered.
  • Flexibility to travel across the project region.

Contract details:

  • Minimum 12 month contract.
  • Full time, five days per week.
  • Approximately 10 hours per day.
  • Southern England
  • Immediate starts available
  • Day rate, outside IR35
