⚡ We’re Hiring: Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Engineer – Chester
Johnson & Phillips is looking for an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Engineer to join us in an on-site role in the Chester area.
The successful candidate will support the safe operation, maintenance and testing of HV electrical systems, with responsibility for switching and safe systems of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out HV switching, isolation and earthing procedures
- Prepare and manage switching schedules
- Issue and cancel HV safety documents
- Manage Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test and Limitations of Access
- Coordinate HV maintenance, installation and testing activities
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety rules and site procedures
- Support planned works and emergency call-outs when required

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience working as an SAP on HV systems
- Strong experience with 11kV systems; 33kV experience is advantageous
- Experience with HV switchgear, transformers and protection systems
- Recognised HV authorisation / competency certification
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and safe systems of work
- Ability to work independently and coordinate site activities
- Full UK driving licence
