Senior Auto Insert Engineer
Yolk Recruitment are supporting an established manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Senior Auto Insert Engineer. This is a key technical role responsible for the performance, reliability and continuous improvement of automated insert machinery, working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime, improve machine utilisation and maintain high standards of quality.
As Senior Auto Insert Engineer, you will take a lead role within the Auto Insert engineering function, coordinating technical activity and providing hands-on engineering support to ensure machinery is operating effectively and meeting production requirements.
You will be involved in technical problem solving, continuous improvement, machinery development and the introduction of new systems and processes, while helping the business improve machine reliability, quality and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the technical activities of the Auto Insert engineering department to support daily production requirements.
- Provide technical engineering support for automated insert machinery and resolve technical issues.
- Drive continuous improvement across automated machinery, systems and engineering processes.
- Monitor departmental performance against agreed KPIs and support production and quality targets.
- Research and implement future technical developments to improve manufacturing capability.
- Manage machine spares and ensure appropriate minimum stock levels are maintained.
- Represent the Auto Insert engineering function at technical meetings and contribute to technical reviews.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with company procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements.

This is What You'll Need
- Previous engineering experience within a manufacturing or automated production environment.
- Experience working with Auto Insert machinery or similar automated production equipment.
- Strong technical problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work proactively with production and engineering teams to deliver results.
